Eating

Classified as an omnivore, he will eat probably everything. He is more a bait-eater than an active hunter. Some days he even behaves like a vegetarian. But if the local butcher has some fresh meat, he acts opportune and prepares a delicious meal. Normally he prepares his food for himself, but invite yourself (by sending an email), and he will happily prepare a meal for the welcome guests. Especially those who have some affinity with flying. The Hollandavis Magnificens has a good knowledge of traditional Dutch meals. But he also knows how to prepare tasteful salads and has lots of recipes of pasta/spaghetti meals.

It is well known that some birdlike species eat partial rotten fruits. Because of the alcohol in these fruits, they get slightly drunk. The Hollandavis Magnificens has perfected this behaviour in a way that he normally buys his portion of alcoholic drinks in the liquor store. The use of these drinks is highly restricted. Because the Hollandavis Magnificens knows, based on years of experience, that extensive use of those drinks, will influence his behaviour the next day. That’s why he is used to a moderate use of drinks. And he prefers quality above quantity.

After a nice day of flying, while sitting in a cosy chair in his nest, he enjoys the taste of a Aberlour a’bunadh or a Westvleteren 12.
