Exoskeleton

The Hollandavis Magnificens makes use of an Airborne Fun 190 hangglider for flying. It is an easy to control, very stable glider. During training flights, he has also used a La Mouette Atlas 18. Although the Atlas is a good wing for training lessons, the Fun performs better. It has a more modern, higher technical design. And it is about 8kg lighter than an Atlas 18. Not an unimportant argument, if you have to carry your exoskeleton up the mountain.

The Hollandavis Magnificens knows there are some small groups of bird-like people, who still stick with the use of their Atlas-wings. It is unknown if it is caused by a case of very conservative thinking, or a lack of technical know-how. Every now and then, old Atlas-users shout “Atlas rules!”. It is a strange sound, like someone is shouting in the desert. Their slogan can be placed in the same context as the former protests against the steam train, cars and computers. Innovation can’t be stopped, and eventually the Atlas-users will die away.

While using his Airborne Fun 190, the Hollandavis Magnificens looks with curiosity to other Airborne wings in the sky, which have more performance. Like there are the legendary Sting, C2 and C4. There are rumours heard about the development of a Sting type III. It is unknown if and when it is released. But in a couple of years, it could be a good successor wing for Hollandavis Magnificens.
