Especially for Mensans, this topic can be of interest. As a member of Mensa, the Hollandavis Magnificens knows about the never stopping mind. He knows that his mind, that is normally used for thinking about the most weird things. Is, during flight, fully focussed on flying. Sometimes he notices that the mind is trying to over-control the situation. Flying is done by subtle movements of the body. But the mind is always many steps ahead and tries to take control of the movements and wants to act faster, make certain moves faster. Pity to the mind, that doesn’t work! Flying is done by feeling and by body movement.

But there can be an advantage by using the mind. To stay in the air, Hollandavis Magnificens has to find thermals to go up. And finding thermals has everything to do with examining the sky, examining the surrounding area and combine this with the theories you know about the weather and where thermals will probably occur. You have to do this before and during flight. And the better you can combine all of your knowledge, the higher the chances are of finding good thermals. It is said that seeing (observing) and thinking, can’t be done at the same time. That may be true, but Hollandavis Magnificens can switch between seeing and thinking. Most of the time, while flying, he is seeing and observing (and enjoying) the sky and the surrounding area below him. And in the blink of an eye, he can determine which way to go. :-)
