Born on the 21 February 1968

Feels related to pre-historic cousin, the Argentavis Magnificens. An offspring of a mother, who lacks the physical ability to take off in the air, and a father who is afraid of flying.

Due to its great birth weight (6,5kg!!), it was obvious that he would be ‘magnificens’. But considering the laws of physic and the law of gravity, it wasn’t clear from the beginning that he would become ‘Hollandavis’.

His first attempts to take off in the air were in 1993. During summer holiday, he took part of a training course in flying. But that week, the weather was bad, so he only made some very short flights. From the top of a training hill, gliding down to the landing field. A height difference of hardly 100m. After those first attempts, it took about twelve years before he tried it again. And this time with much better results.
